How does an ultrasonic cleaner work? The main principle of an ultrasonic cleaner is to convert sound energy into mechanical vibrations. These vibrations are transmitted through the cleaning solution, which helps to break down contaminants on the surface of the parts. The ultrasound causes micro-bubbles in the liquid to vibrate continuously under the influence of sound waves. When the sound pressure or intensity reaches a certain level, these bubbles expand rapidly and then collapse suddenly. This process generates shock waves and creates extremely high pressure (up to 10^12–10^13 Pa) and high temperatures around the bubbles. The intense pressure from ultrasonic cavitation effectively removes non-soluble dirt and separates it from the surface. Steam-type cavitation directly and repeatedly impacts the dirt, making the cleaning process more efficient.
