Meng Xianglong, 23 years old, is a senior student of Jilin Normal University. He has spent 8 months working for the road toll and 2149 kilometers for 27 days.
The blue sky, floating white clouds, the swaying Potala Palace, Tibet, a place known as the traveler's paradise. The 23-year-old Changchun man, Meng Xianglong, rode 2149 kilometers from Chengdu, and arrived in Tibet 27 days later, realizing his dream.
Successfully cycled from Changchun to Beijing
The 23-year-old Changchun man, Meng Xianglong, is a senior student at Jilin Normal University. In order to have an unforgettable memory for his graduating class, he started working in a company for eight months beginning in 2011. The money he had worked hard for was only for one purpose, that is, riding a bicycle from Chengdu to Tibet.
At 12 o'clock on the 3rd on the 3rd, East Asian reporters met with Meng Xianglong in a residential building near the intersection of Fuan Street and Jingwei South Road.
He was very tired after the trip to Tibet, but when he mentioned his own unforgettable experience, he wholeheartedly became spiritual.
Meng Xianglong had always been a bicyclist. He had successfully cycled from Changchun to Beijing at the end of June 2011. Before graduation, his rating was to ride from Chengdu to Tibet.
Hungry on the road during the journey
On April 30, 2012, Meng Xianglong rode his own bike from Chengdu.
In the journey, Meng Xianglong's problem is food. He recalled, “About 130 kilometers from Litang to Batang, I was exhausted after 50 kilometers of riding. Food and water were gone. It was not easy to get to a village by pushing a car, but I found a circle. There was nobody in it."
The desperate Meng Xianglong sat on the ground and began to cranky, almost hungry on the road. The belief of survival allowed him to stand up again and he finally saw half a bag of compressed biscuits and half a bottle of water on the side of the road.
Because Tibet has a lot of wind, dust, and dust on the food, Meng Xianglong did not care about it. He ate all these foods, restored some of his strength, and made him able to reach the next village.
See instant blood boiling in the Potala Palace
During the interview, Meng Xianglong rolled up his sleeves and trouser legs. East Asian reporters saw many wounds on his hands and feet. It turned out that he was bruised when he climbed uphill.
"I have turned over dozens of mountains. Each mountain has an altitude of over 4,000 meters." Meng Xianglong said that when he climbed over Dongda Mountain, he developed altitude sickness, dizziness, nausea, and nosebleeds. The whole person was almost shocked. . Meng Xianglong said, “At that time it was more than 7 in the evening and the wind was blowing in the mountains. I was nearly in a coma. Fortunately, I met a team. They gave me medicine and treatment, otherwise I didn’t know how to go down.”
Meng Xianglong said that Dongda Mountain is more than 5,000 meters above sea level, and it is covered with snow all year round. Hails often appear. Sure enough, around 8pm that evening, a huge hail was on them. He and his companions spent a lot of effort and eventually found a rock to escape and escaped the hail.
It lasted 27 days and was 2,149 kilometers long. On May 26, Meng Xianglong finally got to Lhasa by bike. “This is the first time I went to Tibet. When I saw the Potala Palace, my blood boiled instantly and I was almost speechless!” Meng Xianglong said with a smile.
The new goal is to challenge the new line of cycling
For him to dare to challenge his own behavior, people around him are very admired. Teacher Xu of Jilin Normal University said: "I did not know Meng Xianglong's ride to Tibet. He returned to Changchun yesterday and called me and I only knew. He dared to think and dare to do it. Spirit is worth learning for young people."
The friend Jiang Bo said that he can do it immediately with his thoughts, and he can persevere. As his friend, he admires his heart and is proud to have such a friend.
A reporter from East Asia learned that because of fear of his parents' concern, he has not told his family about Tibet until now. The hardships of 27 days made Meng Xianglong unforgettable. For hard work, he said he did not regret it. "When you see the blue sky, white snow, and true Tibetans, it really feels like going to heaven," Meng Xianglong said.
This trip made Meng Xianglong have a new goal. “The Xinjiang-Tibet New Line is one of the most difficult routes in the world. There are deserts and the Gobi. This is my next goal and I hope I can achieve it soon.”
