Working fire in Chicago, October 26, 2024

I captured a few images from a fire in Chicago last weekend. The incident took place at a vacant home located in the 19th Battalion area. The fire had spread to the basement, first floor, and attic, and the initial response was primarily defensive. Firefighters worked to contain the flames before eventually entering the structure to complete the mop-up operation.

These photos give a glimpse into the intensity of the fire and the efforts made by the firefighters to control it. It's always sobering to see the aftermath of such incidents, and these images serve as a reminder of the risks that first responders face every day.
