2-Alarm fire in Momence, 1-2-22

Below are some photos from the scene of MABAS Division 7’s second alarm in Momence on Sunday morning. The fire occurred in a large manufacturing facility measuring 150 by 300 feet, featuring a truss roof. The plant specialized in producing freeze-dried vegetable, fruit, and herb ingredients.

The fire was intense, with flames visible for miles around. Firefighters worked quickly to contain the blaze, which spread rapidly due to the nature of the materials stored inside. Local residents reported hearing loud explosions as the structure began to collapse. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but no injuries have been reported so far.
