2-Alarm fire in Momence, 1-2-22

Below are some photos from the scene of MABAS Division 7's second alarm at a manufacturing facility in Momence on Sunday morning. The fire occurred in a large 150 by 300-foot building with a truss roof, which was used to produce freeze-dried vegetable, fruit, and herb ingredients. The flames were intense, and the structure was heavily involved by the time crews arrived.

The images captured by Eric provide a powerful visual of the intensity of the fire and the challenges faced by firefighters working to contain it. The plant, which specialized in producing food-grade ingredients, was completely engulfed in flames, with smoke visible for miles. Local residents reported hearing the sirens and seeing the thick black smoke as the incident unfolded. Firefighters worked tirelessly to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby structures.
