China's first sorghum stalk ethanol plant built in Dongtai, Jiangsu

At the beginning of the new year, the first domestically-made sweet sorghum stalk-based ethanol production plant was built and put into production in Dongtai, Jiangsu Province after more than three months of construction.
The project uses coastal sorghum planting sweet sorghum and can produce 3,000 tons of sweet sorghum stalks to produce ethanol. It is a demonstration project for CNPC Jilin Fuel Ethanol Co., Ltd. to explore non-food production of fuel ethanol. It has the characteristics of not occupying arable land, not consuming grain, and not destroying the ecological environment. While making full use of stems to produce ethanol, it can also make comprehensive use of its waste. Previously, Dongtai City had built the first 500-mu “non-food” ethanol raw material test field in China.
