High Angle Rescue in Chicago, 10-28-16 (more)

This is from Steve Redick:

Yesterday, the Chicago Fire Department responded to an unusual call at 4225 N. Knox. A worker was on top of a large water tower when he experienced a medical issue and needed assistance getting down. The CFD deployed a full technical rescue team to handle the situation. Engine 23 managed to reach the base of the tower using the tower bucket and transported both personnel and equipment to the catwalk level. Once there, firefighters set up an anchor point and used safety harnesses to assist the individual in descending the gooseneck ladder from the top of the tank down to the catwalk. It looked like the victim was able to help himself most of the way, and the entire operation went smoothly and safely. It's always reassuring to see such a well-coordinated response. All the photos from the incident are available here.
