Motel fire in Wheeling, 8-22-21

Wheeling firefighters were joined by multiple departments after a fire broke out at the Olde Court Inn Motel located on 374 N. Milwaukee Avenue on Sunday night, August 22, 2021. Upon arrival, the first responding units reported visible smoke coming from several rooms in the building. The incident prompted a coordinated effort between local emergency services to contain and extinguish the flames. A large number of personnel from different fire departments rushed to the scene, including units from Prospect Heights, Buffalo Grove, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods, Niles, North Maine, Deerfield-Bannockburn, and Northbrook. These teams worked together to ensure the safety of residents and prevent the fire from spreading further. The fire, which occurred during the evening hours, caused significant damage to the motel. Residents were evacuated as a precaution, and no injuries have been reported so far. Firefighters remained on the scene for several hours, working diligently to bring the blaze under control and secure the area.
