South China University Superhydrophobic Research Aroused International Attention

Recently learned from Nanjing University of Technology, Professor Chen Su and others of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of the school, “The Synthetic Method of Conveniently Preparing Stable Superhydrophobic Surfaces from Polystyrene Films by Sol-Gel Method” was published by the American Chemical Society. One of the most important magazines in the material field is "Material Chemistry". This achievement is the first report of the successful synthesis of a superhydrophobic surface in the international academic community. Currently, the application of this material is being expanded.
According to Professor Chen Su, preparation and construction of superhydrophobic surfaces are potential applications in the industry. The use of inexpensive commercial materials for the preparation of stable superhydrophobic self-cleaning surfaces is of great practical value. In recent years, under the support of the National Fund, the research group led by Professor Chen Su has been devoted to the construction of super-hydrophobic surfaces and has received extensive attention from international counterparts. The results of the previous period have been published on the front page of the Royal Society of Chemicals, "Chemical Newsletter", as a cover and a hot topic, and have been highly praised by the American Materials Research Society Express.
