In 2008, Weichai Power (Weifang) Remanufacturing Co., Ltd. was established and is one of the 14 pilot companies for the remanufacturing of auto parts in China. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Weichai Power, remanufacturing companies specialize in the remanufacturing of engines and their parts and components. The total investment of the project is close to 300 million yuan. In March 2009, the first phase of the Weichai remanufacturing technical transformation project was completed, the new plant was put into use, and the remanufactured engines were mass-produced and mechanized. In March 2010, the second phase of the Weichai remanufacturing technical transformation project was completed, and the processing line and assembly line were put into use.
At present, Weichai Remanufacturing Company has already included 19 types of models in the pilot product catalog for remanufacturing auto parts.
