Since the implementation of the recall system in China in 2004, as of the end of 2014, more than 200 producers have carried out 853 recalls of defective automobile products and recalled 1.79 million vehicles. A total of 105 defective vehicle recalls were carried out due to the investigation of the defects of the General Administration, involving 7,758,800 vehicles, accounting for 38.34% of the total number of recalls over the years.
According to the assembly, from 2004 to 2014, the number of electronic and electrical defects caused the largest number of recalls, a total of 227, recalled 5,490,100 vehicles, accounting for 30.06% of the total number of recalls over the years; the second and third ranked in turn caused by engine defects The recall was 185 times, a total of 5,915,300 units, accounting for 29.89%; the steering/suspension defects caused 92 recalls, a total of 2,594,600 units, accounting for 13.11%.
According to reports, in 2014, a total of 84 producers in China carried out 185 recalls of automobile products, an increase of 39.10% year-on-year (133 recalls in 2013). A total of 5,050,500 defective automotive products were recalled, surpassing 5 million vehicles for two consecutive years. (In 2013, 5,170,700 vehicles were recalled). A total of 37 recalls were carried out due to the investigation of the defects of the General Administration, involving 3.29 million vehicles, accounting for 65.27% of the total recalls in 2014, an increase of 28.4% compared with 2013. It is also the year in which the number of recalls affected by the General Administration's defect investigation has been the highest in the past years.
According to the assembly, the number of recalls caused by engine defects in 2014 was the highest, and 2065,000 vehicles were recalled in 45 times, accounting for 40.97% of the total number of recalls in 2014. The second and third places were triggered by electronic and electrical defects. 56 recalls, 1,670,200 vehicles were recalled, accounting for 33.14%; steering/suspension triggered 9 recalls, and 757,100 vehicles were recalled, accounting for 15.02%.
