· Aston Martin recalls 3,811 vehicles using the Daimler problem steering device

According to an informed source quoted by Reuters, Aston Martin is recalling all 3,811 DB11 sports cars produced since the end of 2015. The main reason for the recall is that the Daimler steering column used by DB11 is defective and may cause the airbag to accidentally explode.

Aston Martin spokesman Kevin Watters confirmed the recall and said the recall was to "solve the DB11 steering column problem."

Last year, Daimler recalled more than 1 million Mercedes-Benz cars equipped with the steering column. These steering columns were supplied to both Aston Martin and Nissan. The Infiniti brand has recalled 17,500 affected cars.

Daimler said that the electrostatic discharge coupled with the damaged airbag steering coil and the grounding device of the steering component may be improper, which may lead to incorrect deployment of the front airbag of the driver. As part of the solution, the dealer will add a new grounding device to the steering components.

At the time, a Mercedes-Benz spokesperson said that due to this problem, "some drivers were slightly scratched or injured", but there is no death report, and this issue has nothing to do with the high-profile airbag problem recalled on a large scale worldwide.
