China Automotive Systems announced that it has begun construction of a plant in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The new plant will assemble steering system components for the South American market, with an initial annual capacity of 100,000 units and a maximum capacity of 700,000 units. The initial investment is 3 million US dollars and is scheduled to be put into operation in April 2015.
China's automotive system began exporting to Brazil in August 2012 and turned to system components. In the future, we will use the new factory to switch to local production, and expand supply to automobile manufacturers, Tier 1 suppliers, and after-sales markets in Brazil.
