PART I: WHAT IS A MAGNETIC SEPARATOR
A magnetic separator is a device that uses a strong magnetic field to remove ferrous materials from a mixture. It typically consists of a large rotating drum that generates the magnetic field. As materials pass through the separator, non-magnetic particles fall out through a mesh at the base, while magnetic particles are attracted to the sides of the container. This series works in conjunction with a metal detector. The separator will not activate until the metal detector sends a signal. This setup helps save energy. Designed for short-term operation, these separators have strong excitation and a more powerful iron-removal capacity compared to continuous-duty models, making them ideal for applications where iron content is low but removal is necessary.

PART IV: INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

As you can see from the image above, there are two installation options for the separator: on the head or the middle of the conveyor.

No matter which part of the conveyor you choose, ensure the following:
  1. The separator is placed at the top of the conveyor belt.
  2. The separator should be aligned vertically with the conveyor belt.
  3. Make sure there is a lifting point on the top of the conveyor. We can provide an adjustable lifting chain or a frame for installation above the conveyor.
  4. This type of separator is equipped with AUTO discharging, meaning it automatically removes ferrous materials.
  5. Check if you need a Non-magnetic Roll.
