Suzuki China Responds to "Fuel Doors" Not Covering the Chinese Market

Following Volkswagen, Mitsubishi, and Nissan, another car company has become the focus of public opinion because it involves “falsification”, that is, Suzuki, a Japanese car manufacturer that is relying on compact cars and small-displacement vehicles as its main products.

According to "Nihon Keizai Shimbun" on May 18, due to Mitsubishi Motor's fuel efficiency fraud, the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism required auto makers to report to the 18th whether they had violated the law.

It has been confirmed that there are 16 types of vehicles currently sold that are not measured according to the methods prescribed by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Japan requested Mitsubishi Motors Corp. to submit a report on fuel efficiency test violations again on the 18th. Mitsubishi Motors announced on April 20 that four mini-vehicles such as "eK Wagon" have fuel efficiency test violations.

In view of Suzuki fuel consumption fraud in the world's major media fermentation, Global World Automotive Channel has also made contact with Suzuki China for the first time, and on the fuel consumption fraud, the current status of the Chinese market to communicate.

The response stated: "The vehicle involved in this incident is a vehicle sold in the Japanese market and has nothing to do with the vehicles produced and sold in the Chinese market."

It is also clear that Suzuki Motor Co., Ltd. does not have fraudulent behavior of fuel consumption performance and therefore does not need to modify fuel consumption data. In addition, there is no problem with emission performance and it fully complies with Japanese safety standards.
