On October 17, the project “Development and Application of Belt Roasting Pellet Technology” completed by Sinosteel Equipment Co., Ltd. passed the appraisal of the scientific and technical appraisal meeting organized by China Iron and Steel Association. The appraisal committee believes that the achievement has reached the international advanced level and has important promotion and application value. This technological achievement that fills the domestic gap has the ability to go out and participate in international market competition, highlighting the "China power."

The development of green steel pellets has obvious advantages

As an important raw material for the production of blast furnace ironmaking and direct reduced iron, pellets and minerals are increasingly valued by the industry for their process characteristics and excellent performance. It is the basic guarantee for steel enterprises to achieve high-quality production and green development.

The blast furnace concentrate has always been an important policy for blast furnace ironmaking in China. Among them, the use of high-grade raw materials is the core of the concentrate technology. As a high-quality raw material for blast furnace ironmaking, pellets can meet the requirements of blast furnace concentrates more than sinter.

At the same time, the pellet process is more in line with the needs of the steel green development strategy. As we all know, the sintering process is the most important source of exhaust gas pollution in long-process steel production. In addition to the emission of particulate matter, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides and other conventional pollutants, it also emits characteristic pollutants such as dioxins, fluoride and carbon monoxide. The energy consumption of the pellet process is only about 50% of the energy consumption of the sintering process, and the energy consumption of the advanced enterprise pellet process is only one-third of the energy consumption of the sintering process.

Due to the above advantages of pellets, developed countries have been vigorously developing pellet production technology very early, and the proportion of pellets in ironmaking furnaces has gradually increased, even reaching 100%. Due to historical reasons, the production scale of high alkalinity sinter is too large, and the charge structure of high alkalinity sinter plus acid pellets is formed. According to the production capacity, the proportion of pellets in the charge structure is less than 20%.

Therefore, in the case of affected by various factors, the complete elimination of backward production capacity, to produce high quality pellets, especially the flux of pellets containing magnesium pellets, increasing the proportion of the furnace quality pellets, the refining The improvement of iron quality is both the current situation and the future development direction.

Adhere to independent innovation to fill the domestic gap

At present, there are two main processes for producing pellets in the world, namely the belt roaster process and the grate-rotary kiln process. The belt roasting machine has strong adaptability to raw materials, high productivity, and has the advantages of automation and large-scale. Therefore, the production of belt pellets in the world is higher than that of the grate-rotary kiln pellets. In recent years, with the changes in global raw material conditions, the quality of high-quality pellets is becoming less and less, coupled with the increasingly fierce competition in the steel industry, product upgrading, equipment technology to large-scale development, pellet production enterprises more and more It is preferred to use a belt baking process.

At present, the proportion of China's grate-rotary kiln pellets accounts for about 65%, and the belt pellets account for only 5%. The rest are shaft furnace pellets (the shaft furnace pellet process is backward due to backward technology and has been eliminated abroad). , the country is no longer promoted). In the 20th century, there were only two belt pellet plants in China, namely Baotou Steel and Anshan Iron and Steel. Both belt-type pellet plants imported foreign technology and second-hand equipment, and did not completely convert them into domestic technology. In the later period, there was no further technology development. The Shougang Jingtang 4 million tons belt pelletizing line and the Baotou Steel 5 million tons belt pelletizing line have been built since 2010. The core technologies and equipment are provided by German companies. In addition, the complexity of the belt calciner pellet technology is higher than that of the grate-rotary kiln pellet process. Therefore, the belt calciner pellet technology has not been developed in China. It is also a blank for domestic technology companies to rely solely on their own strength to provide belt roasting pellet technology.

Under such a background, Sinosteel Equipment Co., Ltd. has established a “Development and Innovation of Belt Roasting Pellet Technology” project. In recent years, the company's mineral processing department has done a lot of research work in the field of belt pellet technology, and on the basis of introduction, digestion and innovation, independently completed the design of the belt pellet plant of the Iranian SISCO company with a capacity of 2.5 million tons. Including core equipment design and process design, the company developed its own belt pellet technology system and formed a number of patented technologies to fill the domestic gap.

The main innovations of the company's belt roaster pellet technology are as follows: First, aiming at the roasting characteristics of high-sulfur and high-magnesium magnetite, the company will take the lead in independently developing the belt roasting machine to produce high-quality direct reduction pellets; The numerical simulation and simulation system optimizes the design and development of the unit and the whole set of equipment, and produces the belt roasting machine equipment with independent intellectual property rights, and successfully outputs the belt pellet technology to the foreign countries for the first time; the third is to develop a new type of burner to realize The adjustment function of the combustion flame reduces the peak temperature of the flame, makes the temperature field more uniform, reduces the formation of nitrogen oxides, and achieves clean production.

The scientific and technological appraisal of this technological achievement has attracted the attention of many domestic steel companies. This technology not only provides technical guarantee for product upgrading and energy saving and emission reduction in the domestic ironmaking industry, but also lays a foundation for improving the strength of localization technology, and also provides a technical application choice for steel enterprises to reduce capacity and transform and upgrade.

The project runs stably and economically

The Iranian SISCO company's 2.5 million tons belt roasting pellet project was constructed by Sinosteel Equipment Co., Ltd. under the general contracting method of engineering EPC (design-procurement-construction). The project started construction in November 2013, ignited in October 2016, and passed the property performance assessment of the owner in March 2017. All the indicators met the contract requirements. The production line of the project entered the official production state in December 2016. The whole line was in good working condition, and the roaster system and refractory materials were in stable condition, achieving the production target of quality and quantity.

The Iranian SISCO company's belt roaster pellets project has advanced indicators, stable operation and broad prospects for promotion. It is mainly reflected in the smooth use of various iron ore raw materials including magnetite and hematite, especially When the pellet production is made from hematite as raw material, it has obvious advantages, and the quality index of the obtained finished product is excellent. At the same time, due to the stable and reliable production process, it can ensure that the pellets can be produced into various products, including acidic pellets, alkaline pellets, high-magnesium pellets, and fuel pellets. The ore mine, so that the finished product can be flexibly applied to the subsequent processes such as blast furnace ironmaking and direct reduction ironmaking, which greatly strengthens the technical and economic advantages of the production line and improves its market competitiveness. More importantly, the project can create good economic benefits. According to preliminary calculations, it can create direct economic benefits of about 300 million yuan per year.

In addition to the Iranian SISCO company's 2.5 million tons of belt roasting pellets project, Sinosteel Equipment Co., Ltd. won the bid in the international bidding of the 4 million tons belt EPC general contracting project of TOSYALI Company of Algeria. Currently, the project is under construction. In addition, Sinosteel Equipment Co., Ltd. has completed the research and development and technical reserve of large-scale belt pellet equipment of 5 million tons/year to 8 million tons/year.

At present, based on the existing technical achievements, Sinosteel Equipment Co., Ltd. is further improving the technical content of the belt pellet production line, introducing computer simulation technology and artificial intelligence technology into pellet production, and striving to make pellet production for China.
