As the domestic import auto market continues to be sluggish, the import growth of key auto parts and accessories is higher than that of auto auto imports. According to customs statistics, in the first seven months of this year, China imported 112,254 vehicles (including complete sets of spare parts) for automobiles, amounting to US$3,459 million, which was an increase of 6.6% and 16% respectively year-on-year. The increase in the amount of money was 9.4 percentage points higher than the increase in volume, indicating that the unit price of imported vehicles continued to rise and the grades continued to increase. In the first 7 months, the key parts of imported automobiles were 2.284 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 42.6% year-on-year, and the increase was much higher than the increase in vehicle imports. Imports of automobile accessories reached US$4,524 million, a year-on-year increase of 26.2%. In the first seven months of the entire vehicle fleet, cars and four-wheel drive SUVs accounted for 83% of the total. Which cars accounted for 65%, off-road vehicles accounted for 18%. The number of cars imported increased by 20.5% from the same period of last year, while the number of SUV imports decreased by 25.4%. In the first 7 months, China imported 102,727 cars (including cars, off-road vehicles, and minibuses). The proportion of cars imported from Japan, Germany, and South Korea reached 87%. Japan continues to rank first, accounting for 38% of the total. In terms of share, Germany ranked second, with a share of 27%, and South Korea’s share of 22%. The number of cars imported from the United States, the Czech Republic, and Sweden was 3,122, 2,502, and 2,103, respectively, and the proportion was only two or three percent. According to customs statistics, the export value of China's auto parts and components was US$4.264 billion in the first seven months of this year, an increase of 64.3% year-on-year.
