The main problem of forming large-sized plastic machine materials into products is the formability of large-sized plastic machine materials, that is, the difficulty of forming and processing. This is not only related to its physical, chemical and mechanical properties, but also to the process conditions of plasticization, flow and die of the process materials. The solution to this problem relied mainly on human experience, but the human experience is limited and cannot solve such problems satisfactorily. Many scholars have carried out a large number of theoretical and experimental research work, and computer simulation of the forming process has entered the practical application stage. With the increasing variety of large-sized blister machines, the products are constantly expanding, and the forming process is constantly innovating.

Injection molding and extrusion molding have the most innovations, and sheet metal forming technology has also developed rapidly. The automation of the equipment is also getting higher and higher, and the computer is fully automatic controlled, which has been realized in extrusion, injection and thermoforming. However, the design and manufacture of molds still lags behind the development of equipment and process methods, mainly in the low level of mold design and manufacturing, long production cycle and short service life.

In the last two five-year plans, high-precision processing equipment was introduced, and the mold design and manufacturing were technically modified to make China's mold manufacturing technology a step.
