Mesotrione industrialization technology research completed

The development of herbicides has been a hot topic in the research and development of pesticides in the world. On December 23, the news came from the Shenyang Institute of Chemical Technology. After nearly two years of research, the mesotrione synthesis process development and industrialization technology was successfully developed by Shenyang Kechuang Chemicals Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the Shenyang Chemical Research Institute. The 300 ton/year mesotrione raw pharmaceutical production facility built by Kechuang using this technology has entered the equipment installation phase and is expected to be officially put into operation next year.
In recent years, the growth rate of the herbicide industry in China is much higher than that of pesticides and fungicides. At present, the output of the herbicide industry accounts for 1/3 of the total output of pesticides. Mesotrione is a pre-emergence and post-emergence broad-spectrum herbicide that inhibits hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD). Previously, because China did not have its own product patents and mesotrione synthesis technology and industrialization technology, the species was completely dependent on imports. However, with the passage of time, the mesotrione synthesis process and industrialization technology as a technology monopolized by foreign companies has passed an administrative period in China. Sinochem Group Corporation seized this favorable opportunity to list the development and industrialization of the mesotrione synthesis process as a science and technology investment project, and hand it over to Kechuang. After two years of research and development, R&D personnel have finally successfully developed the NMSBA extraction refining process, filling the gap in the domestic technology.
At present, the project team has used this new process to trial production 112 batches of mesotrione, all of which meet the requirements for product quality and yield, and the production cost is lower than foreign products. Compared with the production processes of foreign companies, the new process not only ensures product quality, but also shortens the operating cycle and increases the production capacity. At the same time, the project team also developed a simple solvent recovery method, which significantly reduced equipment investment, and reduced energy consumption and production costs. The mesotrione technology developed by Kechuang has reached the international advanced level.

It is understood that mesotrione can be easily transported in the xylem and phloem of plants, and has good control effects on annual broad-leaved weeds and some grasses such as ramie, leeks, alfalfa, alfalfa, and alfalfa in the corn field. Demand for thousands of tons of raw drugs each year.
