I just came across this listing on govdeals.com for an interesting piece of equipment: There's a 2009 Emergency One Typhoon fire engine up for auction that caught my eye. The bidding is set to close on February 27th, 2023, at 4:00 PM Eastern Time. There are still about 21 days and 5 hours left until the auction ends. The buyer's premium is 12.50%, which is pretty standard for these kinds of auctions. It started with a minimum bid of $1,000.00, but things have picked up since then. Currently, there have been 5 bids so far, with the highest bidder being listed as 'a********1'. The current bid stands at $2,525.00, and the next increment would take it up to $2,550.00. This particular Typhoon model is equipped with a Hale QMAX 150-23 pump. It has around 10,350 engine hours on it and has covered 110,442 miles. The gross vehicle weight (GVW) is 42,000 lbs. According to the listing, it starts, runs, and is fully driveable. Both the lights and sirens are reported to be fully functional. The last maintenance check was done when the odometer read 109,175 miles, and they typically service it every 3,000 miles. The power ladder rack is confirmed to work properly. However, the smart power hydraulic generator is not operational, and some of the scene and brow lighting has been removed. Interestingly, the truck was taken out of regular service in the fall of 2022. The last pump test was conducted on August 18th, 2021, and it passed without any issues. I thought the photos from the Hanover Park Fire Department were particularly cool. I wanted to give a shoutout to Martin and Tim for pointing this out to me.
