According to reports from the Chicago Tribune, a woman in her 50s was rescued from the burning building with injuries sustained from smoke inhalation and burns. Chief Globerger explained that additional resources were brought in, including an extra engine from Glenview and one from Northfield, primarily to manage the extensive water needs and provide adequate manpower for such a demanding situation. He emphasized that the area’s hydrants are well-documented, but improvements to the infrastructure remain necessary.
Support also came from neighboring departments like Northfield and Morton Grove. As the fire was brought under control, Glenview firefighters transitioned into the overhaul phase, carefully assessing the damage and ensuring no remaining embers posed a threat.
