China's first SMC composite pickup
The cooperation between the two parties began in 2017. The company's R&D team provided Jiangling Motors with a package solution from raw material development, production process to product design. The project also draws on the successful experience of the parent company, US Chau Structural Plastics (CSP), for the development of similar products in North America. This innovative project uses SMC sheet molding composite material, and the entire pickup truck is integrally molded by the bucket, which greatly reduces the product manufacturing cycle and the number of tooling molds.
The entire pickup truck is finished by compression molding

New SMC pickup back bucket processing line
In order to produce the patented SMC sheet, Sai Shi Pin Weiao uses a fully automatic production line to precisely control the ratio of different raw materials such as high-strength resin and glass fiber. The SMC sheet produced is automatically cut and sent to the mold for vacuum compression molding through the world's leading 4,300 ton press. This advanced manufacturing process can fully meet the high efficiency and high quality requirements of the OEM.
SMC rear bucket has obvious advantages of light weight, corrosion resistance and impact resistance
Compared with sheet metal, the SMC back bucket has the advantages of light weight, corrosion resistance and impact resistance, greatly improving the user experience in harsh conditions and high corrosive conditions. After tests including toolbox impact, oil drum drop and masonry impact, the SMC rear bucket does not leave a large dent like a sheet metal material.

Developed Toyota Takama and Honda Ridgeline and other pickups into the market for many years
SMC has won wide recognition in the North American market for its unique advantages in terms of cost and impact resistance. The pickup trucks such as Toyota Tacoma and Honda Ridgeline, which CSP is responsible for, have been on the market for many years. Sai Shi Pin Weiao will combine the experience to better serve the domestic market.
