Working fire in Lockport Heights, 6-21-18

Fire crews from the Northwest Homer Fire District responded to a working house fire around 0630 on Thursday morning at 16307 W 146th Place in Lockport Heights. Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy fire on the second floor and the rear of the structure. Auto aid units brought a Lockport engine and a Lemont tower ladder, while the full alarm response included Orland and Homer engines, ambulances from Plainfield and Mokena, and a Lemont Battalion Chief. Firefighters deployed two lines on the fire, and the tower ladder unit worked on the roof and eaves.

The incident is still under investigation, and no injuries have been reported so far. The fire department continues to work on controlling the blaze and securing the area.
