This is a report from Chi-Town Fire Photos:
September 26, 2019 – 3-11 Alarm Fire at 3902 River Rd.
On September 26th, Schiller Park experienced a significant fire at an outdoor storage facility. When the first responding units arrived, they found 2 to 3 storage lockers already on fire. Engine 5 pulled in and started laying lines, but the fire had already spread to adjacent units. The alarm was quickly escalated to a Box Alarm, bringing in additional crews. By that point, the fire was really gaining momentum. In total, it was upgraded to a 3-Alarm fire. Firefighters from neighboring communities were also called in to assist. There was a lot of hard work involved, including forced entry and extensive water application, to bring the fire under control. I believe there were around 7 or 8 hand lines deployed during the incident. We arrived just before the Box Alarm was officially called, so we witnessed the early stages of the response.
