The price of fuel does not fall to the adjustment threshold

As a result of rising oil prices, Nanjing's taxi fuel surcharges have been raised from 1 yuan to 2 yuan since March 21 this year. Now that the price of oil has been lowered, will the fuel surcharges be reduced or cancelled? The relevant person of Nanjing Municipal Price Bureau said yesterday that the price of oil has not yet fallen to the critical point of taxi fuel surcharge adjustment, and there is no plan to adjust the fuel surcharge.

According to the current “Nanjing Taxi Pricing Mechanism for Taxi Fuel” regulation, when the price of 93# gasoline is raised to 5.53 yuan per litre (starting point of fuel surcharge) or exceeds 5.53 yuan, fuel can be collected from passengers outside the freight rate. The additional fee is 1 yuan/trip. When the 93th gasoline price is raised to 6.64 yuan per liter (starting point of fuel surcharge) or exceeds 6.64 yuan, a fuel surcharge of 1 yuan/trip is added again. Although the price of 93# gasoline has dropped from 7.45 yuan per liter to 7.21 yuan, it is still much higher than the fuel surcharge start point of 6.64 yuan per liter.

With the drop in oil prices, fuel surcharges have not decreased, and the monthly income of taxi drivers will increase significantly. According to calculations, a taxi in Nanjing can earn about 900 yuan more in one month.
