Investing over 500 million yuan, the Qilu Petrochemical chlor-alkali plant's PVC centrifuge mother liquor recycling system has been operating smoothly for more than a month. Currently, the system treats over 1,200 tons of wastewater daily, which is then directed into the ethylene fire water system. This advanced facility is part of the 720,000-ton ethylene project and was initially designed to reuse the slurry mother liquor from the PVC unit in the circulating water system. However, after extensive testing and optimization, it was decided that treating the wastewater through processes such as flocculation, sedimentation, adsorption, and oxidation would make it suitable for the fire-fighting water system instead. Since its commissioning, the PVC plant has implemented strict operational procedures, regular monitoring, and precise control measures to ensure that key parameters like chloride ion and COD levels in the treated wastewater meet all required standards before being discharged into the fire water system. This not only helps reduce the consumption of fresh industrial water but also brings significant economic and environmental benefits. The project demonstrates a successful integration of waste treatment and resource recovery, contributing to sustainable development within the petrochemical industry.
